Client Relationship Manager
Overview
This varied role combines relationship management with business development, events and administration. Full training and support will be provided, making it a supported route into a professional career for someone with strong people skills and a willingness to learn. You will meet partners through Teams and in person, represent the business at networking and hospitality events, and keep the preparation, records and follow-up behind each relationship organised. Previous office-based, professional-services or relevant industry experience is not required.
Role Specific Tasks
The successful candidate will develop new referrer relationships and look after an allocated portfolio of existing partners. Core responsibilities include:
· Research prospective referrer companies and identify relevant contacts, developing an understanding of how they could work with Indevor Bonds.
· Approach potential partners, make introductions, follow up leads and secure meetings, applying the training and support provided.
· Conduct meetings through Teams and in person, travelling nationally where required to develop and strengthen relationships.
· Maintain regular contact with an allocated portfolio of referrers, ensuring they understand our services, feel supported and remain engaged.
· Arrange quarterly relationship reviews and prepare clear, accurate quarterly update reports.
· Provide updates, answer queries and coordinate with colleagues to resolve outstanding matters and deliver on commitments.
· Attend networking events, industry functions and client hospitality, hosting referrers and representing the business professionally. Enjoy a range of all-expenses-paid social events and hospitality experiences, including horse racing, awards evenings, football matches and trips to London.
· Organise invitations, bookings, travel and meetings, including the preparation and follow-up communications needed to make events and engagements effective.
· Maintain accurate contact records, meeting notes, referral information and next actions, handling business information with appropriate discretion.
· Complete the administration required to keep relationships professionally managed, including correspondence, reports, bookings and consistent follow-up.
The responsibilities outlined are representative of the principal duties associated with the role. All colleagues are expected to adopt a flexible approach, undertaking additional duties commensurate with the role and contributing to the wider success of the business where required.
Ideal Candidate Profile
We are looking for an approachable, enthusiastic and reliable person who enjoys meeting people, building rapport and making others feel looked after. Interpersonal skills, clear communication, reliability and learning potential matter more than academic achievement. Candidates may be starting a professional career, changing careers or returning to work. Experience in retail, gyms, leisure, hospitality, recruitment, sales or customer service can provide useful transferable skills. A degree, existing network or previous business development role is not essential.
· Strong interpersonal skills, natural rapport and a genuine interest in other people, with a positive and helpful approach.
· Clear verbal communication and the ability to prepare accurate emails, meeting notes and updates.
· Organisation, attention to detail and reliable follow-through, taking pride in responding promptly and keeping promises.
· Comfortable in starting new conversations and willingness to approach new contacts, developing confidence through training.
· Interest in maintaining relationships over time and representing the business at meetings, networking events and hospitality.
· Willingness to undertake substantial administration alongside meetings and events, managing correspondence, reports and outstanding actions.
· Curiosity, willingness to learn and the ability to accept feedback and apply the training provided.
· A full driving licence, willingness to travel nationally and the ability to attend the Birchwood office regularly.
· Availability for agreed events and occasional commitments outside standard office hours, including evenings or overnight stays where required.
· Professional conduct, discretion and motivation to develop a career while taking responsibility for an allocated portfolio.
Additional Desirable Attributes
Customer-facing experience gained through employment, education, volunteering or other relevant activities would be welcome. Experience organising bookings, handling correspondence, planning events or keeping accurate records could also be useful. These are desirable rather than essential: applicants do not need previous office or industry experience.
